We have a few highlights that we would like to share before looking forward to 2022.

In partnership with Telford Homes, we brought forward proposals for 239 new build to rent homes along with community uses on Mill Road within the Ilford Metropolitan Town Centre and Investment Growth Area. This was approved by the planning committee in September 2021 with the vice-chair commending the application as “very high quality”. We agree, and so did his committee colleagues. 

Mill Road represents one of the first to come forward in Ilford, which is earmarked for huge investment as the opening of Crossrail beckons. The scheme also constitutes an endorsement of the growing build to rent model, which we will continue to explore in the coming year.

Elsewhere, we were proud to secure approval for plans to redevelop a site on Shakespeare Road, Brixton. The site is currently used by Norris Skips as a waste facility. Our proposal will transform it into a development of 218 new homes delivered within a high-quality architectural and public realm environment. The proposal also makes provision for 35% affordable housing, in an area where this is needed.

In the world of acquisitions and disposals, we recently sold 165 Tunnel Avenue in Greenwich to Bloom, which has been set up to invest in central London warehouses in a £250 million joint venture with Angelo Gordon.

We also secured some new sites that we will talk more about as they come forward.

On the personnel front, we were really pleased to welcome Nick Jennings to our team as a Land Buyer as well as Lilly Tilbury, who has joined us as our Office Manager.

Looking forward to 2022, with capital, expertise, and experience behind us we are looking forward to creating new highlights.
